Gahkuen Link is a single-player 3D Anime styled Hack and Slash game with Character Tag elements. Join the fight with Coal and Crane to defeat as many training robots as you can in an arena. If time or both your character's HP runs out the round's over!
This is a project where I worked in a team consisting of 6 people. which consisted of 1 Game Artist, 1 UI/UX Designer, 2 Music & Sound Designers and me as the Game Designer, Project Leader and Programmer. You can take a look at each of my roles down below!

The goal for the combat system was to make it intuitive and easy to pick up for players. By doing that I made the control scheme recognizable and easy to understand. For example making the button jump the south face button and the skills mapped on three buttons.
Coal Moveset Design:
Coal was meant to be a starter character for beginners to use. But still fun to play. I decided to give him a Gunblade. A sword and pistol in one. Since those are common weapons I decided to combine them and give Coal both ranged and melee attacks. His Skill set consists of easy to understand skills.
- One where you can shoot projectiles
- One where you can do damage in a wide area around Coal
- One where you will dash forward and damaging enemies while at it.
His interesting interaction is that if you hold the skill or attack button he will use his gun, extending his attack by shooting.
